When God looks for people to steward His spoken word, He can't use prideful people. Only an attitude of true humility will make us available to Him. When we are faithful with little, He entrusts into our care greater things. Focus on the word He’s already given to you, go with Him, and let Him block the enemy all the way to the reward!

It’s part of our human nature to wonder if what we’re hearing is really God, especially when it goes against what we think we already know. The best way to know that it is really God speaking to us is by asking Him to confirm His word through the Bible, godly counsel, and circumstances.

When we think God is really speaking to us, the word will line up with the message of the Bible, godly counsel will agree and confirm, and we will have peace in our hearts. It always takes faith to follow God, but when we step out based on a word from Him that has been confirmed, we’ll walk in peace.

God comes to a prepared atmosphere. As we make and keep an “appointment” to meet with God, we’ll hear Him speak to us.

It’s important to make regular appointments with God a part of our scheduled priorities. We all know that life goes by too quickly these days. If we don’t plan to meet with God, it’s easy to let other things in our lives eat up all of our time. Just like any relationship, we need to spend time together and learn how to understand each other and how to communicate clearly. All of this time and intimacy will come in handy when we reach a point where we need quick  answers about a specific situation. There will be much less misunderstanding, frustration, and struggle to understand the heart and character of God when communication is a daily, comfortable part of our lives.

Sunday Worship Experience 12-07-14

Prophecy isn’t a scary or freaky thing. It simply means that you give someone an encouraging message from the Lord. Not only can we all prophesy, but it’s part of the gifting that God has given every single one of us.

When we receive the Holy Spirit, He walks alongside us, guiding us into truth and telling us things to come. He doesn’t want to be silent; He wants to have an intimate, communicative relationship with us. As we walk with Him, He will speak to us and give us words or impressions that encourage others. In 1 Corinthians 14:31, we are told, “you can all prophesy … that all may learn and all may be encouraged.” Hearing God and prophesying is a learning experience.
