This series is giving us the chance to dig deep and find out what we really believe — not just what we say, but what we truly believe. Gaining understanding of those beliefs allows us to have direction in our lives and have joy and fulfillment.
Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I’ll believe it when I see it?” The experiences of life teach us to think this way. People betray us and make promises they can’t keep. It’s natural for our human belief system to put God in that same category. Well, we need to turn our thinking around on that one and realize how much of life’s joy and fulfillment we will never see if we don’t believe.

Our mission at New Life is to encourage everyone to become like Jesus. That is why embracing the four core promises of God is so important. As we accept those promises and take steps along the Growth Track — follow, connect, discover, serve — we gain a better understanding of what we believe, why we believe it, and how it shows up in our lives.
Have you ever wondered how to gauge whether you’re on the right path? The Believe series will assist you in assessing where you are in your walk with God. What do I believe? How do I put it into practice? What virtues do have that show that I’m becoming more like Jesus?
A.W. Tozer wrote, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Why? Because this mindset — or absence of it — will drive all we are and all we do.

Our Hope for You
Today, at STEP ONE, our hope is to help you learn and put into practice what we believe are four essential habits of every follower of Jesus. It is through these habits that we develop a deep relationship with Christ.
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-13 (KJV)
"But whoever did want him, who believed he was who he claimed and would do what he said. He made to be their true selves, their child-of-God selves. These are the God-begotten, not blood-begotten, not flesh-begotten, not sex-begotten." John 1:12-13 (MSG)

Every single one of us start our relationships with God in some type of bondage. The devil's goal is to keep us in bondage so we won't realize who God designed us to be. But God has a completely different plan. He wants us to live in freedom!

God first revealed his four “I wills” to the Israelites during Passover when they were instructed to sacrifice a lamb to protect their family against the death of the firstborn – a plague that was on their Egyptian captors. When Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins, he became the sacrificial Lamb that would protect us from death. We need to remember those core promises God gave us and the sacrifice Jesus made to fulfill them.

Sunday Worship Experience - 08-09-15
In this big world we live in, it is easy to look around and wonder what the point of it all is and if our existence really matters. A great way to get some answers, is to look to the promises God has made. Most of us have had promises made to us in our lives -- with good and bad results. We can quickly call to mind times when people have broken promises to us. But when God gives a promise, he always fulfills it! His word is a rock solid guarantee. He cannot break his word.

Jesus is referred to as a teacher 48 times in the gospels. Many people believe Jesus was the greatest teacher who ever lived. Great crowds followed Jesus all the time, even into deserted places where there was no food, just to hear Him teach. Multitudes were always astonished whenever Jesus would teach — and today, people are still astonished at His teachings

Mark 16:15 tells us, "Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all." (MSG) What is the good news? It's the gospel of Jesus Christ and his relationship with us. It's the knowledge that, through Jesus' sacrifice for us, we are saved and forgiven for all of our sins. When we believe in this good news, we have a stronger connection to God and to others. We no longer worry about the judgment for sin, because that was taken care of 2000 years ago!

God is infinite and as the Father, He loves His Son, Jesus. He gave His Son to us so that we might be saved. Jesus was punished for our sins, as though He sinned, and died on the cross. He was raised again from the dead and, because of His sacrifice, we are now made sons and will live with Him forever.
