Prophecy isn’t a scary or freaky thing. It simply means that you give someone an encouraging message from the Lord. Not only can we all prophesy, but it’s part of the gifting that God has given every single one of us.

When we receive the Holy Spirit, He walks alongside us, guiding us into truth and telling us things to come. He doesn’t want to be silent; He wants to have an intimate, communicative relationship with us. As we walk with Him, He will speak to us and give us words or impressions that encourage others. In 1 Corinthians 14:31, we are told, “you can all prophesy … that all may learn and all may be encouraged.” Hearing God and prophesying is a learning experience.
